He takes after his aunt

Just a suggestion. You could say that he is the spitting image of his father but takes after his aunt. The fact that you mention "olhos" puts the cat amongst the pigeons, though, as if he has his aunt's eyes he is not the spitting image of his father (a cara do pai). Real food for thought on this pleasant warm and sunny (in São Paulo at least) afternoon.

I would use 'ways' because it seems to me to be the best translation for 'geito' in this sense. HTH
