Spanish term

sociedad anónima / sociedad limitada

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Finance (general) companies
I'm translating an annual report and I'm not sure about a proper translation of sociedad anónima/sociedad limitada. These terms are used all the time in the document, so I need to solve it. And what are the abbreviations of this terms? Thank you for any help :)

Both Jennifer and Guadalupe say exactly as I would in all respects.
Guadalupe - Jun 20, 2008:
Hi, Jennifer! I agree with you: the abbreviations are not translated if they are part of the corporate name. Besides, the translation (e.g., if you are describing the business form) would depend on the country of origin. Where were these companies formed?
Jennifer Jones Jun 20, 2008:
I don't believe that legal forms should be translated when they follow the company name i.e "Banco Santander S.A." as they form part of the legal entity's name. You can see evidence of this on many translated annual reports in the public domain e.g. http://www.santander.com/csgs/StaticBS?blobcol=urldata&blobh...
