In a document from Spain, it gives a reference to a file in the General Archives of Simancas. It includes the word Pares.

Archivo General de Simancas (AGS). Registro General de] Sello (RGS). Legajo 147607,515. Pares. Anexo 1.

I assume "Legajo" is file, but Pares??? Even numbers? Pairs?
