German term or phrase: Ihre Zeit
I'm translating a marketing text for a tile company, and I'm a bit stuck on how to translate this sentence:

Dabei geben wir uns selbst und den Dingen ihre Zeit.

It follows a section on creating things by hand with respect.

We take our time

Explanation:
Or something like that. I'm assuming that the 'ihre' refers to 'den Dingen', so perhaps its trying to say that they don't rush their work?

neutral  AllegroTrans: Could be interpreted negatively - i.e. we take ages; "we never rush our work" or something similar would work better - this is marketing text and it's not necessary to translate word-for-word. Asker needs to think outside the box

-> Yeah, it needs to be phrase positively like "We're only happy with [our products] when they're of the highest quality" or words to that effect. Implying that they don't do things quickly, but without sounding like they'll take too long.

..and let thing happen/unfold at their own pace

Explanation:
I agree with "we take our time" but I would also include the reference to the things also taking theirs. This is my suggestion:
we take our time and let things happen (or unfold) at their own pace.

I find it includes the concepts of patience and respect you were mentioning. "Unfold" in particular, might give the idea of something that takes its shape slowly and in a natural way.

-> I believe the reference of the source is about how things are done

neutral  AllegroTrans: this just sounds woollly - not positive marketing talk

-> I respect your opinion but I respectfully disagree

agree  Gordon Matthews: How about "let things take shape at their own pace"?
16 mins
  -> I like this

agree  Ramey Rieger (X): I would skip "we take our time" since it's shaky marketing. We allow the creative process to unfold naturally.

A process that deserves to mature naturally.

Explanation:
My last answer took the intended direction but also made it seem like you will get your products in 10 minutes or two years.
Besides, no one is trashing me. That wasn't meant seriously.
I believe we need to see the text as a whole, so here is a suggestion that may fit:

(For us,) Our vocation goes far beyond merely crafting a product. It is a philosophy/mindset/attitude of deep respect for our hands' ability to create. A process that deserves to mature naturally.

Handwerk ist für uns mehr als das Herstellen eines Produktes.
Handwerk ist eine Haltung. Voller Respekt vor dem, was wir mit
unseren Händen erschaffen können.
Dabei geben wir uns selbst und den Dingen ihre Zeit.
