The same goes usually with facts and figures (hechos y cifras versus datos y cifras).
There is a subtle but relevant difference between datos y hechos. While the former conveys the idea of information about something, the latter means data that has been confirmed; something that is a fact rather than simply data. Whenever this distinction is relevant in English it should also be noted in Spanish ("a thing that is known or proved to be true"; un hecho). If fact is used as just "a piece of information", then dato or an equivalent synonym might work.
