Repeat the customer's description and the impact on their business back to them in a single cohesive statement to confirm that you understood them. For example: A customer might report: "When I insert a part into another part, the things don't come with it. I have a deadline to meet!" You could repeat this back to the customer by re-wording it as a question, "When you insert a derived part, the custom properties or geometry is not imported, and this is preventing you from working?"
