@mostafaei بله درست فرموديد اين متن از داستان درخت به ژاپني گرفته شده است. در مورد پوچ گرايي هم باهاتون موافقم اما فكر مي كنم اين جمله بيشتر به بيماري يا كسالت به دليل بيماري بر مي گرده جون بعدا توي متن داريم

Hi Think it is taken from "the Japanese Quince". If so, the main character there is Mr. Nilson. The whole story circles around Nihilism. Even the name of the main character is not without a good reason. Nilson comes originally from Nihilism. Further, if you look at the sentence closely you can understand this:
As Mr. Nilson, well known in the City, opened the window of his dressing room on Campden Hill, he experienced a peculiar sweetish sensation in the back of his throat, and a feeling of emptiness just under his left rib.
words like peculiar, feeling of emptiness, etc. clearly demonstrate this.
These were the things that we learnt in BA level when we had that interesting oral reproduction of stories subject.
