Hi,
The full sentence:
The woman, Ameneh Bahrami, was left blind and disfigured.
Please see: http://story.northkoreatimes.com/index.php/ct/9/cid/08aysdf7...
Recently the media here in Turkey have been discussing the man (Majid) who threw acid at the woman he wanted to marry (Āmene) as she kept refusing him. Apparently the court has said that Āmene may do the same to Majid.
As we can see from photos, the young lady suffered terrible, terrible disfigurement and was blinded too.
Many thanks,
Simon

از شکل انداختن
This is a transitive verb, and when it's used for face it's translated so (refer to the 1st link). But in this case because any translation for this verb seems unsuitable for a journalistic text, in most of Persian news agencies the term اسیدپاشی شده or مورد اسیدپاشی قرار گرفته is used because it compeletely connotates the disfigurement, esp. for us in Iran.
Example sentence:
ده تا پانزده درصد از كساني كه جان به در بردند داغ آبله چهره و صورتشان را براي هميشه از شكل انداخته بود.
اواسط آبان ماه سال 83 'آمنه بهرامي نو' در منطقه رسالت تهران به دليل دادن جواب منفي به خواستگاري فردي به نام 'مجيد' مورد اسيدپاشي قرار گرفت

I would like to emphasis on translating the term in the following way:
بینایی و زیبایی خود را از دست داد or بینایی و زیبایی چهره خود را ا زدست داد.
In this way maybe no one should be blamed.
When talking about such events in journals they say it in another way: بینایی و زیبایی (چهره) خانوم آمنه بهرامی از او گرفته شد.
The main point regarding this translation is that first the role of the wrongdoer is highlighted and second translating the term (disfigured) as زشت، بدریخت، بد قیافه، بد شکل is not proper in this context at all, because it gives not a good feeling to the receiver of the message about the woman.

: بد قیافه fits well in the context. We can say "نابینا و بد قیافه شد".
