Traduzione in Italiano: la durata dell'investimento, non battere il mercato
la durata dell'investimento, non battere il mercato
Spiegazione:
"time in the market" = durata dell'investimento
"timing the market" = "battere il mercato" = capacità di prevedere l'andamento del mercato e dunque di realizzare elevati rendimenti tramite la compravendita di strumenti finanziari

l'idea è che sia molto difficile "battere il mercato", cioè realizzare rendimenti superiori alla media di mercato acquistando e vendendo titoli a breve termine (ipotesi dei mercati efficienti). meglio piuttosto acquistare un titolo o un portafoglio di titoli per un periodo sufficientemente lungo, in modo da realizzare un rendimento soddisfacente nel medio/lungo periodo
