Explanation:
An alternative.

"Saudade" is an unusual concept which AFAIK only exists in Portuguese. While other words fit the bill, such as "homesickness", "nostalgia" and "yearning", none has quite the same shade of meaning as "saudade".

It is interesting to note that the Oxford dictionary mentions saudade as an acceptable word in English (page 1569):

"saudade (noun): a feeling of longing, melancholy or nostalgia that is supposedly characteristic of the Brazilian or Portuguese temperament". It can be used about people (in which case it does indeed convey the idea of "I miss you") or things.

In the words of Casimiro de Abreu (1839 - 1860):

"Oh ! Que saudades que tenho
Da aurora da minha vida,
Da minha infância querida
Que os anos não trazem mais!"

(How I long for the dawn of my life / My dear babyhood / That the years shall never bring back!)

agree  Salvador Scofano and Gry Midttun: Também é uma boa opção. Interessante que ela conste no dicionário como uma palavra aceitável no original. E, em alguns países, já é usada em alguns contextos.
