I think this is the way to go. You could, in theory say a two-bed room, however, there's no telling what kind of beds these are. They could be two double beds, two bunk-beds, etc. Saying "a room with two single beds" clearly states that this room sleeps two people. Furthermore, I would write "two" in words, not numbers.
