Explanation:
I'd like to take issue with using the word "roll".
Everyone in the catering trade wants to be chic, and French is of course far more chic than our culinarily mistreated English language will ever be.
The word "roll" is a lovely Anglo-Saxon word which I would rather use any day, but I'd be unlikely to see it used for advertising or on a menu. Pasta roulade also makes it clear to the denser readers of the text that we are not talking about a roll and butter, and it gets plenty of Google hits too
