I wonder if there is an English term of art corresponding to this word in a computer context. The document is a memorandum of specifications for acquisition of software and services from a company called BMC Software. In an annex on"Professional Services for the Migration from BMC Remedy ITSM 5.5 to ITSM" there is a point in the subsection on project design that reads "Diseño CMDB. Se definen y documenta las clases y relaciones que se mapearán en la CMDB." Another point says "Configuración y Diseño de Fundamentos. Crear un documento en el que se indique como se mapea la estructura y organización de la empresa con los Fundamentos de ITSM."

There sure is an English term! In fact, "mapear" is practically Spanglish, being a calque from the English "to map". A more proper Spanish way to say this in the original would have been "relacionar" or "asociar".
