Spanish term

ciudad serrana

It's kind of obvious, but does anyone have another word or expression for "ciudad serrana" other than "in this city among the hills" May be i'm pushing it too far, but may be, there is a better way of expressing it. Thank you a lot.

little town/city nestled in the mountains

I looked it up, and La Falda is larger than a village. It has a population of 16,000 (by comparison, Taxco in Mexico, also nestled in the mountains, has a population of 50,000 and is considered a "city").

Here is an (awkwardly written) description, which to me has the feel of a small city.

This renowned tourist centre offers services of very good quality, and is priviledged by its splendid microclimate. This locality is situated on El Cuadrado hillside, and displays landscapes of sierras considered to be among the most appreciated in Córdoba.
La Falda is bounded by Valle Hermoso on the South and by Huerta Grande on the North and is one of the richest centres in the Punilla valley, with a quite active commercial life. Several shops over the Edén Avenue attest to this.
It posseses a rich history reflected, for example, in the magnificent Iglesia del Santísimo Sacramento (Holy Sacrament Church) , which can be seen from different points of the city.
It has several natural beach resorts and many possibilities for adventure tourism within the beautiful sierran surroundings. La Falda Dyke, gives the possibility of practising fishing and water sports.
This city offers, without any doubt, a very good alternative for your summer holidays. Tranquility and calm, day and night entertainments, gastronomy for all levels and a varied offer of lodgings: different categories hotels or beautiful hostelries with all the flavour and tradition of the homemade cuisine and pastry. In brief, all the possibilities for your rest and amusement.

Tepozlan is about the same size (15,000), and it's called a "town."

Thanks, Sheila!
agree Aoife Kennedy : I would go for "city nestled in the mountains. This is the best answer. To the asker: I would choose this one.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Yes! Little town nestled in the mountains!! I like it, thanks a lot, and definitely, though big enough it's no doubt "town" instead of "city". And YES to Aoife Kennedy, we all know there are plenty of mistakes on Google!! Thanks a lot to everyone of you. What would I do without you out there for me?? Love, Arwenlight."

Muchas gracias, colega :)
neutral Aoife Kennedy : Doesn't really scan. "City in the highlands" would be ok in somewhere like Scotland, where the mountainous region is called the highlands, bu I don;t think that;s the case in Argentina.

mountainous city/village

Se refiere a que está rodeada de sierras.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Aoife Kennedy : Mountainous suggests that the city itself is full of mountains - in this case it's ok to say the city is in a mountainous region but not that the city is mountainous. [Note added] Don't you think there are mistakes on Google?

city in the mountains / city in the hills

... in this city in the mountains.
Not very poetic, but grammatically sound. "City in the hills" is more poetic than "city in the mountains".

neutral Aoife Kennedy : Again, the city is not necessarily hilly, but it is in a hilly or mountainous region. Lisbon is a hilly city, but it's not in the mountains or hills - it's not in the middle of a mountain range.[Note added] Hi Miguel, no, that doesn't sound natural

Hi, do you prefer a ontological description, such as " a hilly landscaped city" ? Regards
