Is my answer because we had a similar poll on April 18th: "How many different CAT tools do you use on a regular basis?" which, naturally, generated discussion on the pros and cons of different CAT tools and everyone's preferred CAT tool. I wonder if the poll checkers are still sleeping on the job after the "I know when to stop working at the end of the day because..." poll two days ago? ... As I use Trados & Across almost 50 / 50, but both are a pain n the neck if the sofware does not play along
Although I use CAT tools in some of the jobs I do, I prefer to use none of them, since many clients (especially agencies) take advantage of you by enforcing those foolish fuzzy and 100% match discounts.

I tried a number of CAT tools, such as Omega T, Wordfast Anywhere and Wordfast Classic. Then I decided to buy Déjà Vu thanks to a very special offer, and I'm very satisfied with it. Probably there are other tools that are as valid as this, but at the moment I'm very happy with it. Have a nice Sunday! | | | Ventnai Spain Local time: 12:52 German to English + ...
I answered 'Other' because the market (and marketing) dictates that I need to use Trados. I'm not happy with it but my clients require it. It's not a preference, but a necessity. | | | Ty Kendall United Kingdom Local time: 11:52 Hebrew to English Déjà Vu....how apt! | Jul 1, 2012 |

Have a nice Sunday! This poll definitely gave me a sense of Déjà Vu. Fortunately I work in a language pair where Crados hasn't penetrated completely. Also a lot of the work I do isn't really suitable/compatible with CAT tools. Me no like presumptive polls. | | | Suzan Hamer Netherlands Local time: 12:52 English + ...

I do use Studio 2009 fairly frequently, but when I go back to MetaTexis after using Studio, it's like taking off my high heels when I get back from a party...

Makes my life a lot easier - although in all honesty I haven't tried many others as this one just works for me. | | | Always Trados | Jul 1, 2012 |
I used Translation Workspace with a paid tenancy for more than a year for just 5000 words per month, felt it very costly and hard to use. Trados is my Best Choice always.

Yawn, "Time for bed," said Zebedee Hi Julian, I hope you have noticed the difference between the questions - how many do you use, and which do you prefer to use. What I am interested to know is not which you use, but which you ENJOY using. I myself have to use many CAT tools (about 4) due to clients request, but there's one I prefer to use whenever there's compatibility. Thanks for replying and have a great Sunday! | | | Pages in topic: [1 2] > | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Poll: Which CAT tool do you prefer to use?
