Become a cold case

Explanation:
When something (a case) is no longer paid attention to/investigated, and is left unresolved, it becomes a cold case. What we say in Urdu is: یہ معملہ سرد خانے کی نظر ہو گیا۔

Example sentence(s):
  • Our police department is quite "good at" delaying the investigation process, letting the cases turn into 'cold cases;' so, no more investigation, and no more justice!

disagree  Irshad Muhammad: Explanation is good but translation does not convey the exact message of the source. The accurate translation should mainly be meant on "ignoring" something

  -> Jazak ALLAH for your remarks, Irshad sb. Well, 'to become cold' does mean to ignore something. This is the standard legal equivalent to 'Sard Khana.' It, however, would be great if you could suggest something better to help asker.

\"سردخانےکےنظرہونا\"
to be put into cold storage

Explanation:
The phrase I am suggesting is used in English and I suspect the Urdu phrase may well be a direct translation of it. I would be surprised if سردخانا is not a recent accretion into Urdu.

neutral  abufaraz: Please excuse me for correcting a word 'نظر' in your question . It should be 'نذر' not 'نظر' .
