elimination/eradication of viruses (from)
In isolation, I would think "viral elimination/eradication" would do, but the problem is that "viral elimination/eradication of X" would be nonsensical since if anything, it would mean X is itself being eliminated by means of viruses (if that's possible?!), not that the viruses are being eliminated from X. So it would need to be rephrased as "elimination of viruses from" to make sense.
