In my opinion this is what is meant in this context.

If you are experienced in marketing language you shouldn't have any difficulty in expressing the concept. It refers to the 0 km concept of eating what is produced locally or at least in this case that the durum wheat is sourced locally, so it doesn't have to travel far, therefore it has a low impact on the environment

Tradotto in benefici per l’ambiente, significa impiantare 649 ettari di bosco, pari a circa 325 mila alberi.
