French term
Effectif moyen facturé
French to English
Bus/Financial
Business/Commerce (general)
This appears in abbreviated form on a chart as "Effectif moy. facturé"
The text I'm translating is a presentation of a consulting company and "Effectif moy. facturé" probably refers to the number of consultants working in a given line of business. My problem is that space is very limited, so I'm having a lot of trouble expressing this in a way that would fit into the chart!

Av. No. staff billed
"Billed" is shorter than "invoiced" and abbreviated forms of invoiced (e.g. inv.) could have other meanings.

Glad that helped, but note that, unless this is something new that I am unaware of, # stands for a digit which is not the same as meaning a number.

: Basically this works, but query "staff" - they may well be sub-contracted in which case another term might be better

Thanks AT. They'd still be staff supplied to the client, even if subcontracted.

: Agree with "billed" if mention is necessary—"staff billed (avg)"?

Thanks Wolf. No, that suggestion wouldn't work because it omits "No.".

: 'effectif' here means staff, not 'effective'; and in this situation, I think we'd say 'average' not 'mean'

: Yes, but needs 'billed'... possibly abbreviate 'consultants'?

I'm not sure that we would need "billed" in a table, since it's probably understood from the context that we're talking about the number of consultants on their books. But if you felt it was necessary, I'd go with Bashiqa's suggestion of "inv." on the end

: Agree with Tony that "facturé" needs to be included. More seriously, however, not all staff billed are necessarily "consultants". They may well also charge for support staff.//Asker said "probably".

True, but it was the original poster who said that they were "consultants", I presumed they knew this from the context.

: Susan, sorry, didn't see your anwer when I posted mine, agree with your idea to omit billed, maybe shorten consultants too?

: Apart from the sheer length, I also wouldn't put 'invoiced' at the front like that, I believe it should be at the end.
