Si no me equivoco, no existe una palabra española para traducir "parentify". He encontrado "parentificar" y "padrificar" pero me parecen burdos intentos de traducción y no los usaría por ningún motivo.

adjudicar (le) el rol de los padres//asumir el rol de los padres
Me parece más exacto hablar de un rol; el niño o niña está desempeñando un papel que no le corresponde y, en efecto, cumpliendo con esas funciones. En el original el sujeto es pasivo y por eso pienso que adjudicarle es quizá lo que quieren decir; no tanto que el niño asuma esas funciones con plena conciencia, sino que le son adjudicadas por las circunstancias y el entorno.
