From a talk about Adam and Eve:
The God of love created man and woman to reflect God’s image and to live in harmony with him.
The above is the English original. Here's what I think the Persian translation was, from listening very closely:
خدای پُرمحبت مرد و زن را آفرید تا بازتابی از تِفات او باشند و هماهنگ با او زندگی کنند.
When it talks about reflecting God’s image I think it probably means that since God is love, we were created to reflect that love. Therefore از تِفات او (az tefAt-e u) may not be a literal translation of "of His image" (i.e. God's). What could it be, I wonder. It certainly sounds like 'az tefAt-e u'.
Anyway, please disregard the above if not helpful - I'm really looking for a translation of "a reflection of God's image" i.e. a reflection of who God is, of His true nature. In many ways, 'nature' is better than 'image' here, but the problem with 'nature' is that it has connotations of 'natural', of that which is born and dies, and of course this makes it inappropriate for use in this context.
So, I apologize for the unsatisfactory nature of the English original. Please feel free to be creative here!

What you have heard is "sefAt" (صفات) (attributes) not tefAt.
I rather like the collocation of نمود with سیما. You can also use بازتابی از سیمای خدا.
An example of the collocation of نمود with سیما:
ولی تمایل دارد دین را پدیده ثانوی، یعنی انعکاس یا نمودی از سیمای اساسی رفتار انسانی و جامعه در نظر بگیرد.
In a more general sense, we can also use وجود خدا (God's being).
I rather like the collocation of نمود with سیما. You can also use بازتابی از سیمای خدا.

Broken Arabic plurals, being singular grammatically, imply a kind of unity in plurality, don't they? Or am I on the wrong track?
