Chinese to English Tech/Engineering Manufacturing
Translating company report about sand casting, keep coming across 出炉时间--what is this, and what's the right term? Is it the time needed for molten iron to cool after coming out of blast furnace before casting can begin? Thanks!

I think your answer is probably right, it's the actual time required for the pig iron to flow out. Just looking at the Wiki page, though, it's also possible that it's the time between the iron being ready and tapping beginning.

agree Sharon Toh, MITI MCIL : Yes, I think it is "the actual time required for the pig iron to flow out". I'd call it the tapping duration or duration of tapping.
