While most people rely solely on the "wedding planner" (assessor de casamento) to host and supervise wedding day events, I would say this is a more precise term to specify the difference existing between the roles.

"Mas você sabe qual a diferença entre um assessor de casamento e um cerimonialista? Em tese, o assessor é o responsável por planejar a cerimônia e a recepção desde o primeiro momento. É ele quem corre atrás de tudo que os noivos precisam: o local do casamento (tanto da cerimônia quanto da recepção), decoração, banda, DJ e o buffet, ou seja, a fase pré-casamento.
