Glossary entry (derived from question below)
Spanish term or phrase:
los orondos hombres del Consejo de Hamelín
English translation:
the smug/pompous men of the Hamelin Council
Spanish term
los orondos hombres del Consejo de Hamelín
This is from the story about The flautist of Hamelin. Here is the full paragraph:
Y dicho esto, los orondos hombres del Consejo de Hamelín le volvieron la espalda profiriendo grandes carcajadas.
Furioso por la avaricia y la ingratitud de los hamelineses, el flautista, al igual que hiciera el día anterior, tocó una dulcísima melodía una y otra vez, insistentemente. Pero esta vez no eran los ratones quienes le seguían, sino los niños de la ciudad

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

If you wanted to include the 'plump' you could maybe say 'the smug/pompous fat cats on the Hamelin Council'.
Also, re your translation, the plural of 'man' is not 'mens' but 'men'.
Thanks Miss Martin. |

The big-wigs/ fat-heads on the Hamelin council
And with that said, the big wigs/ fat-headed/ pig-headed men on the Hamelin Council turned their backs on him with great howls of mocking laughter. Furious at the greed and ingratitude of the Hamelinese, the piper, as he had done the day before, played the sweetest melody over and over again, insistently. But this time it was not the mice that followed him, but the children of the city.

"Big -wigs" and " fat-heads" are pejorative, and due to the historical nature of Grimms' Fairytales, I'd plump ( no pun intended!) for ' big wigs';

the smug and self-satisfied Burghers of Hamelin
This is The Burgher's Chorale, the march of the townspeople: smug-sounding, self-satisfied, self-important. As the burghers approach the Piper, ...

: Except it's the council representatives who are smug and self-satisfied, not the burghers themselves, but rather their elected representatives;
