Discussion
You will see on p. 31 that the "dispositifs de capture" aka "pointes captrices" are sharply pointed spikes. The intense electric field around these spikes ionises the air around them, turning the air into a conductive gas which allows the atmospheric charge to drain away to ground, hopefully before the spike actually gets struck. So strictly speaking it's not the lightning itself that's being "captured" but electric charge. In EN I think we would just use the rather general term "lightning rod" though strictly speaking it's an "anti-lightning rod".
