Spanish term

ampliar el contrato de construcción a

Spanish to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s) Licitaciones/construcción
It means to turn the construction contract into design, coordination and construction contract? To add design, coordination and construction to the construction contract?

Thank you!

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

if you start with "redefine/broaden the construction contract", then continue with "to encompass design, coordination and construction" and forget "include" as "construction" has already been mentioned

"encompass" allows for repetition of "construction"

and just to reinforce the use of "redefine": In order to adapt the labour law to technological upheaval, we suggest to redefine the contract of employment by replacing the concept of legal subordination ...

copied and pasted and the English is suspect: should read "we suggest redefining" but the idea is OK

Spanish term (edited): ampliar el contrato de construcción a

widen /out/ the construction agreement to

... to include...

Very rarely, empirically, does widen out not work as a translation for 'ampliar' in many contexts though, oddly, is not translated as such in any KudoZ glossary entry.

Again, for UK legal consumption, a non-binding agreement is preferred to any hint of a binding contract.
Example sentence:

The Council, however, would like to make this opt-out permanent and widen it, in fact. europarl.europa.eu El Consejo, sin embargo, querría hacer permanente dicho opt-out y ampliarlo, de hecho.

extend the construction contract to

The agreement or contract of work is due to be extended or adapted.
"One year since the beginning of the building work, and since the client has found a flaw, it's necessary to modify the design. An annex attached to the contract intends to extend or adapt the contract's terms by including design, co-ordination and construction."
