I'm not quite sure how to translate 'empresas salvadoras' in a way that sounds natural. I understand what it means but not quite sure how to say it. Ideas? Perhaps there's a coined-phrase in existence?
Dos décadas después, la mayoría de esos proyectos no se terminaron o nunca iniciaron. La única excepción parecía ser xxxx, considerada como una de las **“empresas salvadoras” ** por producir hoy unos 105 mil barriles de petróleo al día, en medio de una muy mermada producción venezolana que en abril apenas rayó los 700 mil barriles diarios. Es decir, de ella depende una séptima parte de la producción petrolera del país.

| Hi Lorena! Savior was actually the first word that came to mind but to me it has such a religious connotation! Of course this is a pre-conceived notion on my part as it can be used in many contexts. I was hoping there might be an equivalent phrase even if using different words. |

: I think this is fine. This word isn't always religious - far from it. You could say "one of the country's/industry's saviours".

'empresas' are enterprises, business firms or companies; 'salvadoras' are saviours. In this phrase 'salvadoras' is the feminine plural adjective describing 'empresas'. I suggest 'life-saving' should be the adjectival equivalent of 'salvadoras' to describe the type of business enterprises.
