the food court
this is the common term in the US - an open area filled with seats and surrounded by food suppliers that each have a "booth" with a small kitchen, a counter, cashier, server(s) and menu. All food is "carry out" - you can purchase from any vendor and sit down in the common area to eat. Very popular because if you're in a group, one person can get Mexican food, someone else Chinese, others burgers, sandwiches, barbecue, whatever.

Sorry, I meant to say that these are specific to shopping malls. Once in awhile you may find them in the basement of a big office building.
