This term appears in the glossary but there is more than one translation. I'm wondering whether "local/municipal taxes" or "excise taxes" would be more appropriate in this context.
I'm translating "impuestos" as "taxes" and "tasas" as "rates".

A Google search for "local levies" gets a lot more than "municipal levies", and although there may be specific differences between a levy/tax/fee... etc, in many cases they are synonymous. The problem as I see it is that the source text aims to cover all angles, so keeps churning out lists of things which to all intents and purposes are synonyms.

| Thanks David. The only problem is that when they say "impuestos y tributos" later in the same sentence, I've translated "tributos" as "duties". It's difficult to find enough synonyms! |
