From a catalogue of a(n) (artistic) photograph exhibtion.
Is the idea of 'masticado' here akin to 'second-hand', or rather (well) thought out and planned (by the hotelier)? Or something else? Whatever the case, what would be a nice turn of phrase here? All and any ideas more than welcome...
With many thanks.

predigested
Explanation:
Another possible and, I think, idiomatic way of reflecting the original metaphor. I do think this is the sense, as opposed to "raw" experience. The image is premastication, sometimes called "kiss feeding", whereby the mother chews the food and then passes it from her mouth to that of her infant child:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premastication

So literally "premasticated experience", which is in fact a possibility here, but I think it might sound more natural to refer to a variant of premastication found in some animals, involving passing regurgitated and therefore predigested food.

Arguably this metaphor should be retained because of its connection with the idea of consumption.

"David Sobel has argued that rather than being allowed freely to explore the natural world children are instead steered toward PowerPoint presentations, videos, and closely manicured guided trails that deliver predigested experiences."

"According to the website for ATME, the Association for Travel Marketing Executives, the boomer generation will be a “pig in a python.” As the industry gears up to squeeze “the moneyed masses” through packaged and predigested experiences, might not aging boomers — so good at changing the game! — insist on a more informed and thoughtful experience? I hope the offerings in this book will help the “second journey” traveler choose wisely among the options and make the best of journeys."

A good example of the same thing, in my opinion:

"It is also important that tour leaders see themselves as experience enablers whose task is not to impose ready-made experiences but to concentrate on the consumers and empower them to experience whatever it is that they came to experience".

spoon-fed

Explanation:
In keeping with the metaphor of the source, "spoon-fed" is possibly an option here, implying that tourists don't have to make any effort to consume the experiences offered them.

spoon-feed
tr.v. spoon-fed (-fĕd′), spoon-feed·ing, spoon-feeds
2. To treat (another) in a way that discourages independent thought or action, as by overindulgence.
3.
a. To provide (another) with knowledge or information in an oversimplified way.
b. To provide (knowledge or information) in an oversimplified way.

Nevertheless, the use of "masticadas" (literally "chewed up") rather than a more elegant/positive term, provides the negative slant of the original IMHO.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Many thanks, Charles. I had been toying with the idea of 'cud' as in 'chewing the cud', but couldn't work out how to adapt so bovine a metaphor to the text here. Wood for the trees?
