From a text on fourteenth and fifteenth century clothing. I'm not clear whether this is a general term indicating close fitting or a specific type of cut. Any help much appreciated.

: it's thetype of printing or decoration on a velvet, by cutting the lengths of fur on the tissu !!

Utilizzando il telaio Jacquard da velluto della Scuola Lisio, montato su due corpi, Frieda ha creato due disegni e forato i relativi cartoni. Ha poi tessuto, assistita da Lotus, tre serie di campioni dal suo primo disegno utilizzando le seguenti tecniche: velluto riccio a 2 corpi, velluto tagliato a 2 corpi, velluto riccio e taglio a 2 corpi, il tutto su fondo tela. Per il suo secondo progetto, Frieda ha tessuto un campione con un fondo riccio con l’opera eseguita in velluto tagliato, con un solo corpo del pelo. Con gli stessi cartoni, ha tessuto altri due campioni con l’opera in velluto riccio su fondo tela, usando 1 dei 2 corpi di pelo per campione. Per l’ultimo campione, Frieda ha tessuto lo stesso disegno ancora una volta per creare un piccolo campione di velluto riccio su un fondo di velluto tagliato, usando un solo corpo.

| well pelo is fur so I think the term is used in relation to fabric of any sort. I'm finding it everywhere on the web but still not clear what it means let alone how to say it in English! |
