French to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical (general) / Alzheimer antibody
French term or phrase: prise en charge
CONTEXT:

The term already exists in the KudoZ glossary, but since it seems to have a different meaning every time, I think it's better to ask. Does it mean 'treatment', does it mean 'management', or does it mean somehting else? TIA.

and in this case it seems to be closer to coverage since social institutions are mentioned.

Explanation:
I think the reason why this keeps coming up is because it has two different English translations. It can mean to treat/manage, or to pay for. In my opinion, based on the context, it's the latter here. That's why it says "saisir l'opportunité", ie to get free/low-cost treatment.

agree  Joan Berglund: I think this translation is likely in this context; it is tricky though, and the whole document should be considered

confirmation of diagnosis and cover

Explanation:
Looking at the French government website below, it is clear that Alzheimers is one of the long-term conditions (ADLs) for which medical care is covered 100% by the French health service. However, in order to receive that cover the diagnosis has to be confirmed at a specialist centre. This must be where the waiting comes in.
