peer agreement (net): +3Pyrenees Explanation: quite simply. Massif is one of those words with a multitude of meanings in French. Here, it appears to apply to the whole mountain range, from Med to Atlantic, in which case I think we just refer to "the Pyrenees". It can also be used for a particular part of a mountain range, and even a single "block" corresponding to a particular summit. Best left out in English, in this case anyway. It IS unusual to refer to the "massif pyrénéen", unlike "Massif Central" which is a standard geographical term and is the same in English. |
