@ EleoE: it is NOT about temperatures; it's about HEATS (metal fusions)! Temperatures can be high or low; no English person would ever put it this way - unless they meant, say, a report from Africa. I know that furnaces are usually very hot - but sometimes they are simply turned off. In this context heat = COLATA, of which I'm 90% certain; only I wasn't sure which word to use for "summary". I used "rapporto", cause it's the only one that googles. Plus, I've heard of "heat reports" used by Americans at our local Mittal branch.

The thing is that each of us has a different understanding of the phrase in question. I think that we are NOT dealing with temperature here (although metal smelting does require quite high values in this respect! :-)); please note that "heat" means "HIGH temperature", not just "temperature", right?...

Thus, your "riassunto termico" refers to ANY temperatures. Could be minus 200, or plus 6000. Am I right? ("cold" would be the opposite of "heat")

During my Mittal experiences, I dealt with "heat reports" (American English wording); those comprised data charts concerning heatS (note the plural) from BOFs, or converter furnaces.

I still insist that we're dealing with "colata" here, rather than with temperatures.

Hy Rafal no problem, but thermal would be in italiano "termale" while in Engish/Italian language "heat" in some case (see Word Reference) can be translated with the term "termico" . Some examples:

heat engine macchina termica
heat equation equazione termica

@GianLuigi: I wouldn't like to appear rude, especially when I'm trying at a "foreign-foreign" language pair, but...

(a) "heat" is like a single fusion of metal; a "smelting session". In the process you first load the furnace with so-called "burden" (this is all the stuff put inside; pig iron + additives like scrap metal and sometimes other metals to produce alloy steel), heat it and then tap (discharge) the final product. I've been doing translations & interpretations for Mittal Steel Poland for quite a few years, and I've seen most of the processes; even been inside a blast furnace (cold one, of course ;-)).

Therefore, I won't disagree - though I would if this were an Eng.Pol. pair. Besides, what you are suggesting would translate back into English as "thermal summary" rather than "heat". No offence, dear Colleague :)
