Squire

I believe it's "squire" as in "'ello squire!"

an escudero is one who carries the escudo, that is a standard bearer and NOT a squire, in my opinion....

the squire was a henchman to the knight....

Sancho Panza is a squire NOT a standard bearer. A standard bearer carries the flag while the squire helps the knight in battle....
