@Phil Wendy may be able to enlighten us further, but one of the things "estilo" can mean is something like Cubism or Impressionism, and I think that's what it refers to here. To me the idea is that there is a "discurso teórico" that defines a given "estilo" of this kind, but sometimes particular "obras" do not entirely conform to its theoretical parameters, so you have to add an adjective to the name of the "estilo" in order to take account of them. Hence, for example, "cubismo decorativo".

adjectivization

It's a linguistic term that I'm very familiar with. In linguistics, we refer to 'adjectivization strategies'. Here it's used in its extended sense. IMO, it fits nicely in this context. Essentially, it means turning concepts into descriptors. Paraphrases wouldn't be the same. Your translation would need to capture the 'ization' part for it to make sense.

From the context posted in the discussion area, I think this is what it means, as in the example "cubismo decorativo": the "ism" needs to be qualified with an adjective.

In Spanish, I get over 62,000 hits for "adjetivación" but just 1,300 hits in English for "adjectivation." It's not in any of the major dictionaries, i.e. Oxford, Webster's, etc...

descriptive style

Going off word and aiming for plain speak from context. Adjectives are usually for added description and style would fit both the overall conjunto and the individual elements. Makes the example sentence easy, too.
Truthfully, adjectivización strikes me as another example of the seemingly insatiable (Spanish? Funcionario?) desire to make an ización or idad out of everything under the sun.

Now that I've seen the sentence, I don't see any reason why you couldn't simply say "the description of the chosen style becomes necessary".
