Court Tipstaff
Not only an ancient office at the High Court in London, but has different functions in different countries, like Ireland and Australia. Can act in criminal cases and serves writs ON defendants/***Donne citation à*** - something a court usher is unlikely or not authorised to do.

: If you look at the structure of the sentence here it's the "huissier de justice" who "donne citation" whereas the asker's question was "huissier audiencier" in "bureau des huissiers audienciers"

If you read on, you'll see they are huissiers audienciers *correctionnels* and doubling in that capacity - and not as cinema-type ushers - when giving notice.

: Time has passed, but I like this rendering because it coveys the notion of an usher who has specific powers to serve documents; asfaik these only exist in Paris (cf. the similarity with London)
