Immer mehr Menschen werden gezwungen sein, die Fähigkeiten zu entwickeln, die Möglichkeiten zu erkennen, den Wunsch zu hegen eine unternehmerische Grundhaltung gegenüber ihrem eigenen Leben zu entwickeln. I found Erwerbstätigkeiten as employment or gainful employment. But what does Nichterwerbstätigkeiten mean here?

disagree Andrew Morgan : As a volunteer in a not-for-profit organisation i can assure you that teher are people who amke a living out of these organisations even if the organisation as a whole is non-profit, so it doenst fit with "Nicht-Erwerbstätigkeiten"

Sounds to me like people have to try to balance out their entrepreneurial attitudes with other aspects of their lives. There's more to life than just work.

Of course "non-work activities" could also include helping out the local youth club with their bake sale, going door-to-door to collect money for UNICEF, and other interests/activities that don't involve personal monetary gain.
