you've supplied, klp, has just proven that the thesis of mine about Kantian (philosophical) origin of 'transcendental' and 'philosophy' as 'love of wisdom' is way dispised by Christian believers ("... и мудростью немудрых их посрамит"). None of a hint at 'transcendency', 'transcendental' in Bible...whereas the extrect presented by asker is purely Christian

As a translator in this pair, Deborah, you may have read or heard of A. Chekhov's "Дядя Ваня" and come across an ironic remark of the protagonist: "We are clever - we do know many words..." Christian written artefacts can only be construed/interpreted/explained on AUTHORITY of the word of God... Any other attempts (say, the ones made with the use of wordly wisdom) are rudimental and vein. They are just like knowing many words...

It's OK, as long as the Asker gets the meaning. A typo will be just that - a typo. Since you are the only one who is complaining, may be you should consider giving up on translating and devote yourself entirely to proof-reading instead? I heard there is money in it too...

Though I must note that in your attempt to correct one typo in your other comment, you've made two more, not to mention a missing comma, two missing spaces, a quotation error, a missing indefinite article, and a double space. Good catch on the whole transcendentalism thing, though!

Therefore I am using this window to correct a one-letter typo in my comment:"with one of the meanings "of or having to do with transcendentalism", is not ideal choice for this particular context .
