to (steadily) up/increase the revs Explanation: I think there's probably a few ways you could communicate the colloquialism here - built up, cranked up, increased etc. But 'grimper dans les tours' really means that the revs steadily climbed until the yacht settled at a particular speed. "The Fjord took barely any time to find its rhythm and with the same swiftness steadily upped its revs to reach 40 knots." |
