En él se combina el uso de mampostería -fachada Oeste- y la utilización de sillares de granito -fachadas Este, Norte y Sur-. El término "patín" -que da nombre a la estructura- hace referencia a la escalera exterior con rellano que todavía puede verse adosada a la fachada Este del edificio.
