This use of 'propre' occurs repeatedly in the text. I thought it would be more usual in (UK) English to say 'green' or even 'eco-friendly', than 'clean'. Is this a close enough translation of the original?

Explanation:
I think you are also right with 'green' and 'ecofriendly' but this is another option and perhaps more 'official' sounding. Gives lots of ghits when combined with 'propre' in governmental papers etc.
