Spanish term

trabajos disciplinares e interdisciplinares

Spanish to English Social Sciences Education / Pedagogy teacher training
From what teachers learn on a teacher-training course: [el profesor] tiene que ser capaz de diseñar y organizar trabajos disciplinares e interdisciplinares y de colaborar con el mundo exterior a la escuela.

I am trying to think of a way to say this without it sounding like they have to whip the students (!)
