Italian term

è in via esclusiva competente l'autorità giudiziaria di X

Italian to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s) competition rules
Clause at the end of a set of rules for a competition:-

"Per ogni controversia che dovesse insorgere in ordine all'interpretazione del presente regolamento, è in via esclusiva competente l'autorità giudiziaria di Milano."

I'm assuing this is a fairly standard clause. Has anyone translated a similar phrase?

The judicial authority of x has exclusive jurisdiction

I've seen quite a few formulaic phrases like this one. Although some of my dictionaries use the language "competence" or "court of competence" I prefer jurisdiction.

agree James (Jim) Davis : definitely jurisdiction. I should throw the in 'competent' dictionaries away

agree Angie Garbarino : yes jurisdiction is better, I can say that even in Italian giurisdizione is better than competenza at least in legalese :)
