Hi Priscilla
I have just asked a US/French lawyer I work with and he has never heard of "elect" shares. The capitalisation makes me wonder whether Elect is the name of a company or of a class of shares particular to the issuing company. I guess this should be evident from the rest of the text, but maybe worth asking your client?

That's very nice of you, Priscilla. Thanks! It's interesting looking backwards (English to French) to realise that sometimes, even in our own language, we cannot get to the bottom of obscure draftsmanship.
