Can anyone recommend a software programme that allows me to create invoices with logo, convert to PDF and also includes a simple bookkeeping package.

TO 3000 does two of these things -- as far as I know it doesn't produce pdf's, but it is an excellent tool for bookkeeping and invoice management.
I just bought a copy the other day and have found it to be incredibly useful. It uses standard rtf files to produce invoices, so you can create pdf's directly from word, if you have a program for that.
Do a forum search here, you'll find a wealth of discussions about using it.

Cute PDF is freeware that can be integrated into almost any software. I use it to create PDFs with my bookkeeping and invoicing software (not U.K.) even though this option is not originally offered as part of the program.

I am a great fan of TO3000 and I use it to keep track of jobs and invoices and payments of invoices but I would not say that it has bookkeeping features.
OK you can record business expenses and calculate the difference between expenses and payments , but it is far from enough to be a real bookkeeping system - at least in France where a freelancer's accounting system must comply with very strict rules.

Invoice creation can be done with Customer Pro File or TO3000, but I think you can't rely on a dumb computer program to take care of bookkeeping. The bookkeeping program simply makes it possible to do bookkeeping on a computer, but you still need to know how to do bookkeeping yourself. For bookkeeping, therefore, I suggest you read a Teach Yourself book and do it with pen and paper for a while before moving to a computer program.

I'm curious as to what you are looking for in terms of bookkeeping features -- as you mentioned, TO 3000 keeps track of invoices and payments and business expenses. Given, the business expense lists is fairly minimal, but I haven't yet found a need to buy another software product for bookkeeping.
TO doesn't calculate taxes, nor does it have a very sophisticated expenses tracker, but it would seem to me that it nevertheless does a lot of "bookkeeping," that is, keeping track of what goes in and what comes out of the bank. What other features are you looking for?
(Disclaimer: I've only been using TO for a couple of weeks now, so I may not yet know what I need.

TO3000 can prepare neither balance sheet nor profit and loss report.
It is great for tracking revenues, not more.
It cannot give you the amount of funds available at your bank accounts. It cannot trace your debts.
I would recommend the British version of quickbooks.

I have been using TO3000 for some time now (first v7 and now v8) and am more than satisfied with the program as a project management software. However, i have still not got the most out of the program in terms of invoicing.
As a non techy sort, i have not managed to customize the scant invoice templates to my own requirements.
Can anyone provide some advice on this matter or links to a possible template repository other than that on TO3000's website (also somewhat scant, imho).
