After some time Trados 2014 would crash when I try to add a term to the termbase. Trados may work for some time and some terms may be successfully added, but then it crashes.
I have set the Java settings to medium and unmarked "next-generation" line.
I have created a blank termbase, using multiterm desktop 2014.

Possible Java problem
Mar 6, 2014
I tried the following and it worked for me:
- Uninstall Java from your computer (use iobit uninstaller to make sure it is cleaned out of your system)
- Use ONLY the java version came with the Trados installation package.
- Set Java security level to as low as possible and whenever you're asked "do you trust this bla bla bla" just say "Yes" and if there is a "Don't show this again" option make sure to select that.

- NEVER EVER UPDATE your JAVA.
- Turn off auto update if Java update reminders started to get into your nerves. ▲ Collapse

It has worked!

Chau, thank you for your advice.
I have contacted the trados distributor in Russia 10 times, but they provided WRONG recommendations.
After I have done as you have recommended, trados has stopped crashing.

I have been trying to solve the bug in the post for two weeks. I have contacted the distributor, has asked many colleagues and posted the question here. The only explanation that has worked is in this post. Perhaps, you should stick it up at the top of the forum, as this is a very valuable advice (it might seem eash to do, but for 2 weeks nobody has been able to tell me this.

Hi Chau,
Where can I find the "java version came with the Trados installation package"?
It works after I run "Client-MTJUR", but when I shut down the machine and start MultiTerm the next day, the same problem happens again. Every time I run "Client-MTJUR", it works only for that very instance. Do you have any suggestion?
Daniel

Can we get Trados Studio to work with all JAVA
Mar 13, 2014
Some time ago I was using Java 25 and after updating to Java 45, got the same type of crashes. I recently got the same type of crashes after a term entry, (which by the way give ALL SORTS of error messages like somebody else is editing when you are the only one user !) and decided to upgrade to Java 51. Seems it is a mistake. What shall I do. get back to Java 25, go to 45 ????

Have you used iobit
Mar 13, 2014
I have tried several methods to solve the issue, but none of those have specified iobit.
Maybe, you have not used iobit? This is the difference between those procedures and the one described in this post.
