I am currently working on translating a book that uses a lot of books and articles as source references for the statements included and we are trying to determine if all the names of said books and articles should be translated into Spanish or kept in their original titles in English. Some of these do exist in a Spanish version but most only exist in English. What is the protocol normally used?

For books: Author's_Name, Original_Title (Translated_Title), Other_Data
For online resources: Translated_Title (in %original_language%)

Depends on style May 6, 2018

How you write the translation depends on the reference style being used. APA and Chicago style put the translation in brackets after the original language title. Doe, J. (2018). Ursprünglicher Titel [Original Title]. Place: Publisher.

If whatever your translating follows a specific citation style, just look up what that style says to do for translating titles. It could be what Sergei suggested or it could be different.
