Hastily cobbled together in order to jump through the hoop and have a "profile" so as to be able to use the blessed site - initially mainly for the kudoz feature and schmoozing.

Because there is no "Not as sophisticated as Linkedin because of the clunky-looking interface" option.

However, I can't help but think how this question could possibly be of any benefit to us Prozians and elicit lively, thought-provoking discussion -- unless, of course, it's been designed specifically by and for Proz staff.

Generally, these kinds of awareness surveys/questionnaires are posted by site management, and not by site users. Now, if there were an

Probably too long, too much information. I think about scrapping most of it, but just haven't gotten around to it. Too much work, so little time. I do invite you though to check out my Personal tab, if you like quotations.

Edited to remove comma....

My sentiments exactly. As social networks go, Proz is becoming more stale every day. My Proz profile is as complete as can be (after all, I control the information), but I never receive inquiries about it from prospects.

And don't get me started on the color scheme!

How about another option? Jul 19, 2012

"A tangled web of narcissistic tripe and marketing hype, capped off by a clichéd and over-the-top tagline."

I've mentioned this before (only I spelled it 'colour' ), but I was shot down by a fervent defender of the site in all its imperfections.

Aren't greens and light pastel tones used predominantly in psychiatric hospitals to calm down patients?

Maybe a more sophisticated UI would better reflect the intelligence of this site's users.

Good but far from perfect Jul 19, 2012

I worked hard on putting all things together but I don't update it as often as I should.
I haven't been contacted often through Proz but I tend to blame it on myself, not on the site.

I don't know if my profile is complete or not. The major purpose it has served is for people from 20+ years ago in my past to find me and catch up on things. I suppose they Google me out of curiosity and it's the first hit they get.

It's more or less what happens with Facebook but less time consuming for me.
