Is that: Then I get rid of them?

Then they're gone

Receives them, they are kept basically in the pocket for 2-3 days, then they're gone.

Individual is just noting that he keeps them for 2-3 days, then gets rid of them.

After using them.

neutral Marina Aleyeva : I wouldn't be so sure, particularly about the after-using-them part of it. The context does not make it clear enough, but уходят suggests that this is before, not after - они уходят в дело, используются.

3 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "I think that's good. The Russian doesn't say whether it's before or after use, and neither does the English."

then they left/pushed off etc.

Declined
I think it's a literal meaning - went away.

then I use them (to inject)

The meaning is vague though. I would guess that these are 2 or 3 days before he uses them, not after. Они уходят might mean они идут в ход/в дело.

agree Vladimir Lioukaikine (X) : he uses them and then gets rid of them.+ Well, I am - he disposes of them after usage, that's how I read it anyway :-)

Thank you. This would certainly be a compromise between the two options although I am not sure both meanings are implied here.
